Tonsil Time!

Malia had to get her tonsils out! She just kept getting strep over and over again! So we thought lets just get it done. She did really good though. The bear in the picture is from a lady who made a bunch of bears with blankets for kids who had to get surgery. Malia was thrilled! When they came to get her she went doctor without any hesitation. She even waved at me and said "Bye Mom!" If she only knew what was lying ahead! I loved her little bum hanging out the back!

Sundance

So... I got a horse! Someone here in town couldn't keep her because they couldn't afford hay so they just let her and another horse run free in the mountains for about a year. Well I overheard some guys talking saying that they would just let someone have them if they wanted them. Obviously I had to go take a look! We ended up chasing them around town trying to catch them for almost an hour! Once we caught them we seperated the two and she has been really good since! She pretty much just followed the other horse everywhere and that horse was horrible! A friend of mine rode her first and she did great! So I rode her yesterday and today and she still did great. She is still a little hesitant but she loves the kids! She will let them walk up to her in the middle of the field and pet her! So anyway I am excited about her and Marc couldn't say much since she was free! Hopefully she will be a great horse!

Happy Halloween

So Halloween has come and gone... again! The kids had a great time as usual! It was actually pretty warm this year... no snow! Which was unusual for Bear Lake! Don't they look cute though!

Red Castle

Over the weekend my friends and I went on a pack trip up in the Uintas... to Red Castle! I had never been there so I was really excited! We drove to Lyman, Wy, unloaded the horses and headed for Red Castle. It took us around 4 to 41/2 hours to get to lower Red Castle on horses! Then we set up camp right by a beautiful lake! I had never been anywhere in the Uintas... it was incredible as you can see! This picture is taken from upper Red Castle. On Saturday we rode the extra way to get to the top! You can't get any higher! It was so beautiful! I borrowed my uncle Barney's horse for the trip and he did great! Then we camped for the night and came back down the next afternoon! They are talking about going again next year for 4 or 5 days and I should have my own horse next spring so then I could go too!

At camp we just let the horses graze! I took this picture out of my tent! This is what we got to look at the whole time!
This is the 5 of us that went... so I was a total fifth wheel! There was at one point quite a few more of us going but they all bombed out... so it was the two couples and ME! YAH! I couldn't get Marc to go...(he's not too crazy about horses...although yesterday I did get him to ride my uncle's horse for a minute!! There is a start!) Anyways... Red Castle is behind us!

This is Red Castle! Kind of fits its name! When I say we went to upper Red Castle I mean we went as far as you can go... not to the very top obviously!

I don't know if I can explain how beautiful the Uintas are... unless you've been there then you know!

This picture turned out okay... we set the timer and had to hurry back on the horses in time!

This is just me at upper Red Castle! I think my horse might be asleep! Ha!

First Day of School

Well... I guess it's back to school! Crazy! Amiya started Kindergarten today and the boys started last Monday! They all had fun on their first day! Amiya likes her teacher and loved going to school lunch! So now at home it is just me and Malia! WOW!

Hunter loves school! He loves to read and loves math and is always excited to get to school! He started football and loves it! They made him running back... his first game is this week!

Kasin likes his class and his friends and recess a little more than the school work! He also is a pain in the butt to get out of bed! He usually throws the covers back over his head and says he isn't going to school! But once he gets there he is fine! Little RAT!

New Do's

So I decided after time after time of listening to Amiya bawl when I do her hair... to cut it! She is so tender headed and when it is long it gets tangled so easily and is a mess to try to brush through! Plus she starts school this Tuesday and I will have to do her hair every day and I didn't want to fight her on it! She loves it and I think she looks so cute! Then of course Malia wanted her hair cut too.... so there you go! She really needed one though because her hair is so fine and it was looking really sick! (thanks Marc... she gets it from you!) But I think they both look super cute!

Raspberry Days

We had a way fun time at Raspberry Days this year! Most of the family came up to play! Amiya danced at the craft fair and after the kids got to ride the little wagon ride! Plus we walked around all of the booths and everyone got some cute stuff!

Malia got bit by a mosquito right under her eye so it is pretty swollen in this picture!

We also went to the beach a couple times (when it wasn't raining!) The beach is a great babysitter because the kids love it so much!

All in all the weekend was really fun! Can't wait till next year... we will have a few new babies to come!
